In August of 2006
Pelican West presented to the city of South Padre Island
an interesting new advertising concept. Anchored by the
Pelican West original, South Padre Island, It’s not a
dream, the DVD features a music video of the song as
well as thirty five broadcast quality commercials of
island businesses. |

The music video kicks
off the DVD and follows the fictitious Johnson Family
through their SPI vacation. The music video, a catchy
celebration of all that is South Padre, is followed by a
island picture photo album and a sponsor roll call. |

The project conceived by
Pelican West and Rob Dew of Funky Boy Productions,
(Austin, TX), features the sponsorship many of the
island’s best restaurants, clubs, entertainers, hotels,
realtors and recreation facilities. The DVD will be used
as part of the island’s advertising campaign for the
next two years. The fresh marketing angle of the DVD is
meeting with great response from the City as well as the
sponsors and is sure to be a great souvenir for any
